Kuffour bets $5,000 on Asante Kotoko to win Ghanaian title
Former Ghana national team and Bayern Munich defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has bet $5,000 on Asante Kotoko winning the Ghanaian championship in the 2026/27 season. MyJoyOnline reports.

Kuffour announced his bet while speaking with football fans after a Monday Stars game in Accra. When asked about the future champion, the former Ghana international replied that Asante Kotoko would win the title.
Fans offered Kuffour a bet of 10,000 Ghanaian cedis. In response, he proposed betting $5,000 and assured them that Kotoko would win the league.

First match of the season
In the opening round of the season, Asante Kotoko drew 2-2 with league newcomers Debibi United. The match took place at Golden City Park in Berekum.
In the second-round match, Kotoko will host Heart of Lions at Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. According to MyJoyOnline, the draw in the first game did not affect Kuffour's confidence in the team's title chances.
