In Turkey, Real beat Inter, Haaland scored twice in Manchester City’s match against Porto

In Turkey, Real began the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League season with a 2-1 victory over Inter, while Manchester City defeated Porto 2-0 at the Dragao Stadium. Anadolu Agency reports the match results.

Inter’s mistakes and Real’s goals

Jose Mourinho’s team opened the scoring in the 14th minute after Inter defender Yann-Aurel Bisseck failed to properly control the ball. Brahim Diaz took advantage of the mistake and passed to Kylian Mbappe, who scored.

Nine minutes later, the Madrid side doubled its lead. Inter goalkeeper Josep Martinez took too long to clear the ball after Benjamin Pavard’s pass, Federico Valverde challenged him at his feet and sent the ball into an empty net.

Thibaut Courtois made several important saves, while Martinez also repeatedly rescued Inter after his mistake. In particular, in the 58th minute he saved Jude Bellingham’s close-range effort, and eight minutes later prevented Mbappe from scoring. In the 77th minute, Carlos Augusto reduced the deficit by converting Lautaro Martinez’s pass across goal. Late in the game, Courtois saved Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s deflected shot and helped Real hold on to the victory.

Haaland’s double for Manchester City

Manchester City controlled the game against Porto and created more chances. The hosts had five shots but failed to hit the target guarded by Gianluigi Donnarumma even once. Before the break, Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa saved several attempts, including those by Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki.

Haaland opened the scoring shortly after the start of the second half, heading in Enzo Fernandez’s cross. Porto could have replied in the 57th minute, but Alan Varela shot just wide of the far post. In stoppage time, Haaland scored for a second time after a pass from Rayan Ait-Nouri. It was the Norwegian’s 36th Champions League goal for Manchester City, allowing him to draw level with Sergio Aguero for the number of goals scored for the club in the competition.
