Australia thrash Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs
Australia’s national cricket team defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 51 runs in the second match of the series in Mackay. As a result, the hosts levelled the score in the two-match contest at 1:1.
Bangladesh’s second innings
Bangladesh finished their second innings with 95 runs in 38.3 overs at Great Barrier Reef Stadium. In the first innings, the team scored 46 runs, while Australia were bowled out for 210. Bangladesh needed another 146 runs to force the Australians to bat again.
By the lunch break, Bangladesh had lost three wickets after scoring 39 runs. They went into the tea break at 95 for eight. Immediately after the break, Nathan Lyon took the final two wickets in three balls to end the match.

Australia’s bowlers’ performance
According to Channel NewsAsia, left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc took four wickets in the second innings, while spinner Nathan Lyon claimed three. Starc finished the match with 10 wickets for 51 runs. Australia’s top scorer was Cameron Green, who made 67 runs.
Australia won after losing to Bangladesh by nine wickets in Darwin. In October, the Australian team is due to undertake a three-match tour of South Africa, the reigning World Test Championship winners.
