Betis beat Real Madrid, Mbappe missed a penalty
Betis defeated Real Madrid 1-0 at La Cartuja Stadium in a La Liga match. Kylian Mbappe failed to convert a penalty in stoppage time, while Troy Parrott scored the only goal. As Al Jazeera English reports, the defeat ended Madrid's winning start under Jose Mourinho, who is managing the club for the second time.
Real Madrid's chances
In the first half, Vinicius Junior hit the post after a pass from Arda Guler. Mbappe also failed twice to get past the opponents' defence, with his shots blocked by Natan and Marc Bartra.
Nine minutes before the end of the match, Parrott put the ball into the net after Thibaut Courtois saved a header from Nelson Deossa. It was Parrott's first goal for Betis.

Disallowed goal and Valles' save
Carlos Espi appeared to equalise with an acrobatic strike following a cross from Vinicius, but the goal was disallowed for an offside in the build-up. Mbappe then hit the crossbar, and late in the match the referee awarded a penalty after a heavy foul by Natan on Vinicius.
Mbappe took the spot-kick, but Betis goalkeeper Alvaro Valles saved it. With the win, Betis moved to nine points from four matches and drew level with Real Madrid on that tally ahead of their second Champions League campaign next week.
