Khushi Sharma’s support

In the UAE team area, the players were actively supported by all-rounder Khushi Sharma, who is recovering from a knee injury. She sustained the injury two years ago during the previous Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and has since undergone two operations.

Hotchandani said the lengthy rehabilitation had been difficult for Sharma, but her presence alongside the team has a positive effect on the players’ morale. She expressed hope that Sharma may be able to return to playing for the UAE in a few months.

If Sri Lanka defeat Bangladesh in the next group match, the final game between the UAE and Bangladesh will determine who advances to the playoffs. According to Hotchandani, beating Indonesia was a priority for the team and gave it confidence ahead of the next match.
