WBO champion Fabio Wardley is seeking a fight with Oleksandr Usyk
British boxer Fabio Wardley, who holds the WBO heavyweight world title, has officially announced his intention to challenge the division’s Ukrainian king, Oleksandr Usyk.
In an interview with the renowned publication Ring Magazine, the athlete emphasized that he is only interested in top-level fights.
Wardle firmly rejected the possibility of facing young prospect Moses Itauma, explaining that it does not align with his career plans.
According to the British boxer, he is at a stage where his main targets are the recognized leaders of the rankings. The boxer emphasized: “I’m targeting Usyk, Fury, and Joshua.”
For Wardle, the path to a fight with the Ukrainian lies through a mandatory title defense. On May 9 in Manchester, he is set to face Daniel Dubois in the ring.
