The UEFA president said he no longer understands some of the referees' decisions
UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin has openly criticized the current state of refereeing in European soccer.
In an interview with Footmercato, he acknowledged that even at the highest administrative level, it is becoming increasingly difficult to understand the logic behind the decisions made by referees on the field and video assistants.
Ceferin considers the lack of a uniform standard in evaluating game situations to be the main problem, which causes justified outrage among fans.
“I don’t understand anything myself anymore. Take, for example, a handball: no one understands whether it was a penalty or not, or whether it was intentional. How do you determine that? You’re not a psychiatrist,” the UEFA chief remarked emotionally.
