Daria Snigur defeated the former world No. 2 at the tournament in 's-Hertogenbosch
Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur got off to a strong start at the WTA 250 grass-court tournament in the Netherlands, defeating Spain’s Paula Badosa in straight sets.
This was the first career meeting between the two players, and it marked Snigur’s debut in the main draw of this tournament. The first set ended with a confident 6-1 victory for the Ukrainian after she won five consecutive games.
In the second set, the Spanish player put up a close fight, but Snigur proved stronger in the tiebreak, winning 7-2. In the next round of the competition, the Ukrainian tennis player will face Hungary’s Panna Udvardi, who is currently ranked 65th in the world.
