Jeff Monson plans to hold a fight in occupied Mariupol
American mixed martial arts fighter Jeff Monson has announced his intention to hold a fight in occupied Mariupol by the end of 2026.
He made this statement to Russian propaganda media.
According to Monson, negotiations are currently underway to stage a fight against Russian fighter Ivan Yemelyanenko.
The 55-year-old fighter, who had previously announced his retirement, received Russian citizenship in 2018 and subsequently renounced his American passport.
After the start of the full-scale war, Monson publicly supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine and spread the Kremlin’s propaganda narratives.
The controversial former MMA fighter and deputy of the Bashkir Kurultay, Jeff Monson, has stated that he plans to run in the 2026 elections to the Russian State Duma.
