Joshua named the Ukrainian as having the hardest punch among his opponents

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated that Oleksandr Usyk did not have the hardest punch among all his opponents. According to the boxer, he was most impressed by the punch of former world champion Wladimir Klitschko from Ukraine.

“Who hit me the hardest? Yes, it was Wladimir Klitschko. I could have said Ruiz, but only when he hit me in the back of the head—it felt like a concussion.

However, when I fought Klitschko, I knew there could be two scenarios: either I’d win, or I’d be knocked out. You know, when they carry you out on a stretcher?”—DAZN quotes Joshua as saying.

Joshua and Klitschko fought for the title on April 29, 2017, at Wembley Stadium. The British boxer defeated the Ukrainian by technical knockout in the 11th round. On August 3 of that same year, Wladimir Klitschko announced the end of his professional career at the age of 41, declining a rematch with Anthony Joshua.

In 2019, Joshua faced American Andy Ruiz twice: he suffered a shocking defeat in their first bout but later won the rematch. In 2021 and 2022, the British boxer lost twice to Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua made an unexpected announcement regarding the end of his career.
