Ukrainian Yanchuk Received an Individual Award in the Nations League

Following the conclusion of the Nations League group stage, Volleyball World announced the winners of the statistical categories. Among the recipients of individual awards was Ukrainian volleyball player Dmytro Yanchuk.

The 27-year-old outside hitter for the Ukrainian national team, Dmytro Yanchuk, was named the tournament’s best server. The Ukrainian recorded 21 aces, tying for first place in this category with Japan’s team leader Ran Takahashi. However, Yanchuk ultimately claimed the title thanks to his significantly higher efficiency. The Ukrainian needed only 101 serves to record his 21 aces, while the Japanese player required 145 attempts. Thus, Yanchuk’s serve efficiency stood at 13.38%. The Ukrainian was most successful on serve in the matches against Japan and China, in which he recorded four aces in each game.

Other Ukrainian volleyball players also ranked highly in the statistical standings. Team captain Yuriy Semenyuk tied for third place among the tournament’s top blockers with 28 successful blocks and ranked eighth in aces (13). Vasyl Tupchiy made the top 20 in four categories: he ranked 13th in total points scored (155) and blocks (16), 15th in attack points (124), and sixth in aces (15).

Another setter for the Ukrainian national team, Oleg Plotnytskyi, finished the preliminary round in fifth place among the top servers with 16 aces, while Illia Kovalov ranked eighth among the tournament’s best receivers.
