Elina Svitolina has become an ambassador for a Ukrainian soccer club
Elina Svitolina, a well-known Ukrainian tennis player and the world’s eighth-ranked player, has officially joined the Kharkiv Football Club, formerly known as Metalist 1925.
She will serve as an ambassador and help promote the team on the international stage.
The new partnership aims to unite the efforts of leading sports figures to support the region during these challenging times.
Team representatives expressed their pride that the country’s top-ranked tennis player agreed to become the face of the revamped soccer brand.
Although the tennis player herself was born in Odesa, it was on the courts of Kharkiv that she began her professional career and won her first major titles.
The club’s management warmly welcomed the outstanding athlete into the ranks of their great organization.
“Kharkiv brings the best together! We are pleased to announce that Ukraine’s top-ranked player, one of the world’s best tennis players—Elina Svitolina—is joining Kharkiv’s ‘crimson-and-gold’ family. Starting today, Elina Svitolina is an ambassador for the Kharkiv Football Club. Elina needs no introduction, as her successes on the court are known throughout the world, and Kharkiv is not just a city to her, but a part of her soul—for it was here that the foundation for her future victories was laid! “Kharkiv is you! Kharkiv is us!” reads the club’s statement.
