The forward finished the season with 13 goals in just 15 matches. Ponomarenko became Dynamo’s main striker only in the second half of the season.
In the race for the top scorer title, he edged out Zorya forward Pylyp Budkivsky and Kudrivka midfielder Andriy Storchous, who each scored 12 goals.
Ponomarenko also made club history by continuing the streak of Dynamo forwards who have won the Ukrainian league’s top scorer race for the third consecutive season.
