German national team players came across a venomous snake before their 2026 World Cup match
The German national team players faced an unexpected threat on the eve of their second match of the 2026 World Cup against Côte d'Ivoire.
Midfielder Joshua Kimmich spoke about the incident.
According to the player, the team spotted a venomous snake near the German national team’s training camp in Winston-Salem, USA. The players were told that a bite from it would require immediate medical attention.
Kimmich noted that after this incident, the players began to be more cautious on the camp grounds and are trying to avoid contact with local wildlife.
The midfielder also joked that, coming from Germany, he isn’t used to such a large number of potentially dangerous animals, so he treats them with great caution.
