Henry Sildaru selected by XC Golden State in X Games draft — ERR News
Estonian freestyle skier and 2026 Olympic silver medalist Henry Sildaru was selected for XC Golden State during the winter draft of the new X Games team league in Los Angeles, United States. He will compete on the team alongside Olympic champion Eileen Gu.
As ERR News reports, Golden State is led by Jonny Moseley, the 1998 Olympic moguls champion. Sildaru was selected in the fourth round of the 2026 draft, which took place this week in Los Angeles.
New team format
This season, the X Games will consist of three stages. Forty athletes were selected for the league's new team format. Henry Sildaru was 26th among more than 200 draft candidates. The athlete said on social media that it means a lot to him, given the competition and the fact that several X Games winners were also not selected.

According to him, individual athletes may still receive invitations for individual performances, but only the 40 selected athletes will take part in the team competition.
Golden State roster and Sildaru's plans
Golden State's roster also includes Luca Harrington of New Zealand, Australia's Scotty James, Japanese athletes Mari Fukada and Hiroto Ogiwara, Finland's Anni Karava, Norway's Marcus Kleveland, and Americans Lily Dhawornvej and Lainey Steen. Eileen Gu, who was born in San Francisco, also took part in forming the California team.
In addition to X Games starts, Henry Sildaru will also compete in FIS World Cup events and at the World Championships. He called the upcoming season probably the busiest and one of the most difficult in his career, noting that training camps and final preparations still await him before the competitions begin.
