Yarmolenko has scored more goals than Shevchenko in the Ukrainian Cup

Andriy Yarmolenko, a midfielder for Dynamo Kyiv, has joined the ranks of the top three all-time leading scorers in the history of the Ukrainian Cup thanks to a goal he scored in the final match against FC Chernihiv, which ended in a 3-1 victory for Kyiv. With this goal, the experienced player has now scored 22 goals in the tournament.

This was reported by Dynamo.kiev.ua. Thanks to this achievement, the winger managed to surpass legendary Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko, who has 21 goals in cup matches to his credit.

Currently, the Kyiv team’s leader shares third place in the all-time scoring rankings with the renowned forward of the 1990s and 2000s, Oleksandr Palianytsia, who also scored 22 goals during his career. The undisputed leaders in this statistical category in the Ukrainian Cup remain former striker Maksym Shatskikh with 24 goals and Andriy Vorobey, who tops the list of top scorers with 25 goals.

In the final match of the 2025/26 Ukrainian Cup soccer season, Kyiv’s Dynamo defeated FC Chernihiv. Dynamo won its 14th cup trophy since Ukraine’s independence.

On Monday, May 18, Luhansk’s Zorya and Zhytomyr’s Polissya ended their Ukrainian Premier League Matchday 29 fixture in a scoreless draw. Following this result, Polissya was unable to improve its position in the standings and remained in third place in the league.
