Infantino to seek re-election as FIFA president in 2027
In Poland, where Gianni Infantino attended the U-20 World Cup, the FIFA president confirmed his intention to seek re-election in 2027. The football organization said that the decision he announced in April has not changed.

According to Cyprus Mail, the 56-year-old Infantino is seeking a fourth presidential term in elections scheduled for March next year. A FIFA spokesperson said that Infantino will seek re-election.

Criticism after plan was scrapped
Infantino’s intention to seek re-election again drew criticism after a plan to sell a 20% stake in the World Cup and other FIFA events to private investors was scrapped in July. According to the publication, calls for his resignation came from UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation, and CONCACAF.
At the same time, Infantino retains the support of the African and South American confederations. During the U-20 World Cup in Poland, he did not answer a question about whether he regretted the turbulent past six weeks, saying that he would speak about it in the right place and at the right time.
