Assessment of Wirtz’s play
According to the outlet, Wirtz has provided one assist in five Liverpool matches across all competitions this season. Last year, he moved from Bayer to Liverpool for £116 million.
Iraola said the footballer should be assessed in the same way as other players: by his play and by how the team performs with him involved. The coach stressed that he rates Wirtz highly and is pleased with his work in training and his contribution to various aspects of the game. According to the manager, the playmaker will want to add goals or assists, but he is already making significant efforts in matches.

Barcola’s adaptation
Iraola also expressed confidence that French winger Bradley Barcola will adapt to the team better over time. At the end of the summer transfer window, the footballer moved to Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain for £123 million.
Barcola has not yet played a full match since the transfer. Iraola noted that the player arrived without pre-season match practice, although he is in good physical condition. In the coach’s view, footballers arriving from other leagues need time to get used to the pace of the Premier League, while Barcola has experience of high-level matches.
Before the match, Liverpool were in 10th place, with one win in their first four matches of the new season. Bournemouth were 16th and beat Real Sociedad 2-1 in midweek.
