Konyaspor beat Trabzonspor in Turkey to earn their first points
Konyaspor defeated Trabzonspor 1-0 at home in the Turkish Super Lig and earned their first points of the season after four opening defeats. Anadolu Agency reports.
Toth’s quick goal
The hosts opened the scoring as early as the second minute. Jason Muleka sent Diogo Goncalves down the left flank, and he delivered a low cross into the penalty area, where Rajmund Toth sent the ball into the bottom corner.
Three minutes later, Konyaspor came close to scoring a second goal: after another pass from Goncalves, Trabzonspor defender Stefan Savic tried to intercept the ball but hit the post. Melih Ibrahimoglu, Deniz Turuc and Toth also had dangerous chances in the first half, but visiting goalkeeper Andre Onana saved his team several times.

Trabzonspor created their best opportunity before the break in stoppage time. Wagner Pina found the unmarked Mohamed Salah in the penalty area, but he fired over the crossbar.
Visitors’ pressure after the break
Trabzonspor became more active in the second half. In the 55th minute, Fabinho headed Ernest Muci’s corner delivery onto the left post. In the 77th minute, Sidney Cabral shot just wide of the post from outside the penalty area.
Late in the game, the visitors pinned Konyaspor in their own half and had possession for about 70% of the time. Goalkeeper Bahadir parried Fabinho’s long-range shot in the 80th minute and, a minute later, prevented Noa Saviolo from scoring. Konyaspor held on to their narrow lead, while Trabzonspor suffered their second defeat in five league matches.
