Milan come back from two goals down to draw with Lazio

In Turkey, Milan came back from two goals down against Lazio and finished the Serie A match in a 2-2 draw. Diego Moreira, who came on as a substitute, scored twice in the second half, Anadolu Agency reports.

Lazio’s advantage before the break

The hosts opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Nuno Tavares moved through the centre of the pitch, found Mattia Zaccagni on the left flank, and he sent a low cross across goal to Matteo Cancellieri, who finished the move with a shot at the far post.

Lazio continued to create chances: Mike Maignan saved Milan after Zaccagni’s close-range shot, while Davide Frattesi fired just wide of the post. In the 39th minute, the team doubled its lead: following an attack down the left flank, Tijjani Noslin’s close-range shot hit the crossbar, after which the ball crossed the goal line.

Moreira’s brace

Milan head coach Ruben Amorim made three substitutions at half-time, bringing on, among others, Moreira and Christian Pulisic. After play resumed, the visitors seized the initiative, and in the 65th minute Pulisic found Moreira with a pass from the left. He struck powerfully past Christos Mandas to reduce the deficit.

Just two minutes later, Moreira equalised. Adrien Rabiot laid the ball back to the edge of the penalty area, from where Moreira fired into the bottom corner. Late in the match, Milan tried to snatch victory, but Lazio held on for the draw. The result ended Lazio’s perfect start: the team have 10 points after four matches, while Milan remain unbeaten with eight points.
