Liverpool beat Bournemouth thanks to Isak goal — Sky Sports News

Liverpool secured a 1-0 away win over Bournemouth in a Premier League match at the Vitality Stadium. Alexander Isak scored the only goal of the match in the second half.

Decisive goal in the second half

Isak finished off a Liverpool attack after Cody Gakpo's actions on the right flank. Before the Swedish forward struck, the ball also touched Florian Wirtz. According to Sky Sports News, the visitors won the match despite coming under pressure from the hosts for much of the game.

In the first half, Bournemouth had a chance to open the scoring: Evanilson met Marcus Tavernier's cross, but Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson saved the shot. Bradley Barcola and Dominik Szoboszlai also had dangerous chances for the visitors, with the latter's free kick going narrowly wide of the post.

Chances late in the game

After conceding, Evanilson shot straight at Alisson. In the 70th minute, James Hill blocked an effort from Isak, who could have completed a brace. In stoppage time, Lewis Koumas had a chance to double Liverpool's lead, but his shot went straight at Djordje Petrovic.

This win was Liverpool's second in the league this season. The team entered the international break in sixth place in the standings. Bournemouth remained without a league win under Marco Rose and sat in 17th place, level on points with Coventry.

For Isak, it was his fourth goal in five matches this season. He has already surpassed his entire Premier League tally from last season, when he scored three goals in 14 matches.
