Maccabi Tel Aviv thrash Hapoel Be’er Sheva to claim third win
In Israel’s Tel Aviv, Maccabi defeated Hapoel Be’er Sheva 4:1 at Bloomfield Stadium to secure their third win in the first three matches of the season. As The Jerusalem Post reports, Ester Sokler scored twice for the hosts.
Quick goal and Sokler’s brace
Helio Varela opened the scoring in the first minute with a long-range strike. Sokler later converted a penalty to double Maccabi’s advantage. Hapoel Be’er Sheva were reduced to 10 players after Eliel Peretz was sent off.
Before the break, Amir Ganah cut the visitors’ deficit to 1:2. In the second half, Sokler scored for the second time after an assist from Varela, and Maccabi added another goal to seal a resounding victory.

Next Monday, Maccabi will play a home Tel Aviv derby against Hapoel. The yellow-and-blues’ opponent has two wins and one draw at the start of the season.

Hapoel Tel Aviv thrashed Hapoel Ramat Gan 4:0 ahead of the derby. All goals were scored after the break: Emmanuel Boateng and Douglas Owusu found the net, Dudu Twito scored an own goal, and Fernand Mayembo set the final score in stoppage time.
Beitar Jerusalem also beat Bnei Sakhnin 1:0 thanks to Eugene Ansah’s goal after a corner and claimed their first win of the season. Maccabi Netanya drew 1:1 with Hapoel Haifa: Alon Turgeman put the visitors ahead, while Mateus Davo equalised from the penalty spot in the second half.
