Mamelodi Sundowns beat Siwelele and open a six-point lead
South African club Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Siwelele 3-0 at home in a Betway Premiership match and extended their lead at the top of the standings to six points. After seven matches, the team has 19 points and has recorded its fifth consecutive league victory, TimesLIVE reports.

In the first half, Sundowns had more possession but failed to convert several chances. Brayan Leon, Cassius Mailila, Kutlwano Letlaku and Antonio van Wyk all had opportunities. After the break, the hosts' coach Miguel Cardoso brought on Motobi Mvala in place of Khulumani Ndamane.
Letlaku opened the scoring in the 57th minute, following up after Mokoena struck the crossbar. Later, Siyanda Ndlovu capitalized on a mistake by defender Afive Baliti and scored from close range. Late in the match, Ndlovu assisted Tashreeq Matthews, who set the final score. Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams kept a clean sheet.

On Saturday, Mamelodi Sundowns will play away against Chippa United at Buffalo City Stadium in KuGompo City. With a victory, the team could extend its lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates to nine points. Pirates have Champions League commitments this week and will return to the domestic championship next Thursday with a match against Durban City in Soweto.
Siwelele, which has collected two points in six matches and remains second from bottom, will host Golden Arrows at Free State Stadium on Saturday. Acting coach Godfrey Mosoetsa was appointed during the week to replace the dismissed Lehlohonolo Seema.
