Metalist 1925 received a substantial bonus for their victory over Dynamo
In the 23rd round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Kharkiv’s Metalist 1925 secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kyiv’s Dynamo.
The only goal of the match was scored by former Dynamo player Denys Antyukh, which allowed Kharkiv to significantly improve its position in the standings.
This defeat was a serious blow for the capital city team, as it allowed Zhytomyr’s “Polissya” to pull even further ahead.
Kyiv’s poor result jeopardizes Igor Kostyuk’s squad’s chances of competing in European competitions next season, adding tension within the club.
According to insider Igor Burbas, the victory over a Ukrainian football powerhouse did not go unnoticed by the Kharkiv club’s management.
Each player on the “yellow-and-blue” team received an additional financial bonus of $2,000 for this success.
Thanks to the three points earned, Metalist 1925 managed to overtake Dynamo in the UPL standings and now confidently holds fourth place.
Currently, the Kharkiv team trails Polissya, which rounds out the top three, by just two points.

The Ukrainian Football Association officially announced the end of its collaboration with national team head coach Serhiy Rebrov. The contract was terminated by mutual agreement following the team’s unsuccessful performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian national soccer team dropped in the updated FIFA rankings, falling from 30th to 32nd place.
