Mudrik announced his return to the field
Mykhailo Mudryk stated that his four-year suspension has been lifted and that he can return to professional soccer immediately. Chelsea explained that the decision is related to a change in scientific standards for evaluating doping samples, meaning that under current rules, the Ukrainian player’s test would not be considered positive.
Mykhailo Mudryk, the Ukrainian winger for London’s Chelsea, announced that his four-year suspension has been lifted. According to the player, following this decision, he can immediately resume his professional career. “After a long battle, the four-year suspension imposed on me has been lifted, and I can resume my career immediately,” the player said.
At the same time, Mudryk reiterated that he has never knowingly or intentionally used banned substances. “I have never knowingly or intentionally used banned substances,” he noted.
Chelsea also confirmed this position. The club stated that throughout the proceedings, the Ukrainian soccer player insisted that he did not know how traces of the banned substance could have entered his system. The London club also explained that since the test was conducted, the scientific standards used to evaluate doping test results have been updated. These changes are intended to make the testing system more accurate and reliable.
According to Chelsea, if Mudryk’s sample had been tested under current technical standards, it would not have been deemed positive. Consequently, no violation of anti-doping rules would have been recorded. Thus, following the lifting of his suspension, the Ukrainian soccer player was cleared to return to competition immediately.
Mudryk himself has not yet announced when exactly he plans to play his first official match after his return, but he emphasized that he is ready to resume his professional career. Mudryk wrote about this on his Instagram.
