Rebrov announced the Ukraine national team's roster for the decisive match against Sweden

National team head coach Serhiy Rebrov has finalized the roster of players who will take the field in the 2026 World Cup qualifying playoff match.

The Ukrainian Football Association announced the head coach’s official decision on the eve of the match against Sweden.

The final roster includes 23 players who will prepare for the crucial match to qualify for the World Cup. The coaching staff was forced to make adjustments to the lineup due to personnel losses and strategic considerations.

Defender Yevhen Konoplya and midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi, who are serving one-match suspensions, were left off the roster for this match.

Also missing from the roster is Boris Krushynsky, a defender for Zhytomyr’s Polissya—he will wait for his chance in upcoming matches.

A notable feature of the lineup is the inclusion of two potential debutants who have been called up to the national team.

Kyiv Dynamo goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret will try to secure a spot in goal, competing against veterans Anatoliy Trubin and Dmytro Riznyk.

In the attack, the coach has put his trust in young forward Matviy Ponomarenko, who will join Vladyslav Vanat and Roman Yaremchuk.

This creates additional options to strengthen the attack depending on the scenario of the match against the Scandinavians.

The national team’s defense will be formed by proven players, including Illia Zabarnyi, Vitalii Mykolenko, and Oleksandr Tymchyk.

In midfield, Rebrov is counting on the creativity of Heorhiy Sudakov and Mykola Shaparenko, as well as the experience of Viktor Tsygankov.

The full roster looks like this: goalkeepers — Trubin, Riznyk, Neshcheret; defenders — Zabarnyi, Svatok, Bondar, Sarapii, Mykolenko, Tymchyk, Mykhailichenko; midfielders — Yarmolyuk, Kalyuzhny, Ocheretko, Sudakov, Shaparenko, Pikhalyonok, Voloshin, Hutsulyak, Tsygankov, Zubkov; forwards — Vanat, Yaremchuk, Ponomarenko.

As a reminder, Salah announced his departure from Liverpool after nine years with the club.

Also, on Thursday, March 26, 2026, the Ukrainian national soccer team will play a crucial semifinal playoff match in the World Cup qualifiers.
