Metalist 1925 thrashed Veres in a rescheduled Premier League match
Kharkiv’s Metalist 1925 defeated Rivne’s Veres 4–1 in a rescheduled Ukrainian Premier League match. The match had originally begun on December 7 of last year and was marred by controversial refereeing decisions that drew protests from representatives of both teams.
This was reported by Glavkom. The home team dominated for most of the match, managing to capitalize on their chances as early as the first half. The Rivne side attempted to turn the tide through substitutions, but their consolation goal was not enough to avoid a rout.
The victory allowed the Kharkiv club to improve its standing in the standings amid a tight battle to remain in the top division. The match was memorable not only for the goals but also for the emotional appeals to the referees over offside calls and penalty kicks.
