Russian and Belarusian speed skaters were allowed to compete in international competitions
The International Skating Union (ISU) has allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in international competitions under neutral status.
According to the organization’s decision, athletes will compete without national symbols—the flag, anthem, and national uniforms. Participation is permitted only if the requirements for neutral status are met.
The ISU noted that it will continue to assess the security situation and may either ease or reimpose restrictions depending on the circumstances.
The union also reiterated that it continues to provide financial support to Ukrainian figure skaters through special assistance programs.
