Svitolina and Monfils won an exhibition tennis tournament at Roland Garros

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina and her husband Gaël Monfils won the "Gaël and Friends" exhibition doubles tournament, held on the famous clay courts in Paris.

In the decisive final match, the star Ukrainian-French pair defeated the renowned duo of Serbian Novak Djokovic and Greek Maria Sakkari.

The tournament was organized for a reason, as it was dedicated to the upcoming retirement of the legendary French tennis player.

In the final match, Svitolina and Gaël defeated the duo of Novak Djokovic and Maria Sakkari 10-6.

The dynamic format of the competition allowed spectators to enjoy spectacular play from the world’s top players and thrilling rallies on the eve of the season’s premier clay-court major.

The future champions’ path to the main trophy was filled with matches against serious and ambitious opponents.

On their way to the final, the Ukrainian-French duo defeated Sorana Kyrstea and Richard Gasquet, as well as Yannick Sinner and Diane Parry.

Demonstrating excellent teamwork and high individual skill, Elina and Gaël left their opponents with little chance of success in the earlier rounds.

These performances will be among the final highlights in the long and illustrious career of the experienced French athlete.

It is known that 39-year-old Monfils received a wild card into the main draw of Roland Garros, where he will start with a match against Hugo Gaston.

Gaël will end his professional career at the end of 2026. This season is a farewell one for the tennis player, so every tournament he participates in attracts heightened attention from fans and the press.
