Tang Qianting defends title at Asian Games in Japan — ECNS
Chinese swimmer Tang Qianting won the women’s 50-meter breaststroke at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan. She defended her title with a time of 29.45 seconds and set a Games record.

The competition took place on September 20. After the finish, Tang Qianting said that her next goal is to try to compete for the world record, ECNS reports.
The athlete said she does not want to put excessive pressure on herself. According to her, she aims to do everything possible every day and deliver a result that reflects her daily work in training. Tang Qianting also noted that she is becoming more mature as an athlete.

Preparation for the Olympics
The swimmer added that as the Olympic Games in Los Angeles approach, she needs to understand her daily tasks more clearly. She noted that breaststroke differs from other swimming styles because it largely depends on the athlete’s form and feel for the water on a particular day.
Tang Qianting named explosive power as a key area for improvement. In her assessment, she does not have significant technical problems but needs to develop strength.
