Debibi United draw with Asante Kotoko in Ghana
In Ghana, Premier League newcomers Debibi United drew 2-2 with Asante Kotoko in the opening-round match of the 2026/27 season. The meeting took place at Berekum Golden City Park in Berekum. According to MyJoyOnline, the hosts came from behind twice to earn a point in their debut match in the top division.
Goals in both halves
Asante Kotoko opened the scoring in the 15th minute, when Yakubu Dogo finished an attack after a through ball from Hubert Gyau. The visitors retained their lead until halftime, but Richard Owusu equalized in the 49th minute by scoring from a free kick.
After that, Kotoko had to rely on goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad to prevent their opponents from completing the comeback. However, in the 73rd minute, Owusu scored his second goal and put Debibi United ahead for the first time in the match, 2-1.

The visitors' response
Six minutes later, Asante Kotoko restored parity. In the 79th minute, Hubert Gyau reacted quickest to a scramble near the goal and scored to set the final score at 2-2.
After the first round, Asante Kotoko are sixth in the table, while Debibi United are immediately behind them. Kotoko's next opponents will be Hearts of Lions, while Debibi United will play Bechem United.
