The World Cup is set to kick off in the United States, Mexico, and Canada
On Thursday, June 11, the final stage of the 23rd FIFA World Cup kicks off in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The opening match kicks off the tournament, which for the first time in history is being hosted by three countries simultaneously. Over the coming weeks, national teams from around the world will compete for soccer’s top trophy.
In the opening match at the 87,000-seat Estadio Banorte (“Azteca”) in Mexico City (Mexico), the national teams of Mexico and South Africa will face off. The match begins at 10:00 p.m. Kyiv time, according to Ukrinform.
For the first time, 48 national teams will compete in the World Cup. Argentina is defending its title.

The matches of the 23rd World Cup will be held in 16 cities. These will be: in Canada—Toronto and Vancouver; in Mexico—Guadalajara, Mexico City, and Monterrey; in the U.S. – Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.
New York will host the final match on July 19.
