Ukrainian gymnast Pascal, who has had a leg amputated, won gold at a competition in Romania
Young Ukrainian gymnast Oleksandra Pascal won the prestigious international tournament “Carla’s Rhythmic Cup,” held in Romania.
The athlete’s story has become a symbol of resilience and strength of spirit. In 2022, during the Russian shelling of Zatoka in the Odesa region, the girl suffered a severe injury that resulted in the amputation of her leg.
Despite her ordeal, Oleksandra did not give up on her dream. After a long rehabilitation, she returned to training and continued practicing rhythmic gymnastics using a prosthetic leg.
During her performance at the tournament, the athlete impressed the judges and spectators not only with her skill but also with her strength of character, winning the gold medal.

Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, congratulated the gymnast on her victory.
“The audience applauded not only Oleksandra’s skill but also her incredible inner strength: dreams are stronger than any circumstances. I sincerely congratulate Oleksandra on her victory! We are proud of our unbreakable champion and wish her new sporting heights!” he said.
