Ukrainian sabre fencer Olga Kharlan has given birth to a daughter
Olga Kharlan, the most successful female fencer in Ukrainian history, a six-time Olympic medalist, and two-time Games champion, has become a mother for the first time.
The most decorated Ukrainian athlete gave birth to a baby girl at a clinic in Italy, where she currently lives with her fiancé.
The happy news was shared in a joint Instagram post by Olga Kharlan and her fiancé—the renowned Italian sabre fencer and decorated Olympic medalist Luigi Samele.
In a touching post, the couple revealed the baby’s birth date and name, along with a sweet first photo from the maternity ward.
“Arianna. June 14, 2026. Mom and Dad love you more than anything in the world,” the happy parents commented succinctly and warmly on the event, holding their newborn daughter’s tiny hand in the photo.
The name Arianna, chosen for the girl, is extremely popular in Italy and also well-known in the global sports community.
