Ukrainian midfielder Andriy Tkachuk has announced his retirement from professional soccer at the age of 38.
The player shared his decision on Facebook, thanking everyone who supported him throughout his many years of play.
“The time has come to call it quits with soccer! Thank you to everyone who supported and criticized me! You made me stronger. 268 games in the UPL, 17 in the Europa League, and 32 in the Ukrainian Cup will remain in my memory forever! It was great. Time to move on,” Tkachuk wrote.
In the 2025/26 season, the footballer played for “Phoenix-Mariupol” in the First League, where he combined the roles of player and coach.
Throughout his career, Tkachuk played for Karpaty, Vorskla, Arsenal Kyiv, Chornomorets, Metalist 1925, Minai, Polissya, Dinaz, and Phoenix-Mariupol. He also played for the Kazakh clubs Akzhaik and Atyrau.
Fans remember Andriy Tkachuk most for his performances with Lviv’s Karpaty, for whom he played in the Ukrainian Premier League and the Europa League.
