Heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk has released a promotional video for his upcoming fight against Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven. The Ukrainian boxer reminded fans of the major event set to take place in Egypt in the coming days.
Usyk urged fans to watch the fight
In the video, filmed against a backdrop of sand and pyramids, Usyk addressed fans and invited them to watch the boxing event in Giza. The Ukrainian boxer emphasized that the main event of the evening will take place on May 23.
"This Saturday is a big boxing night in Giza. Don’t miss it," Usyk said.
The fight between Usyk and Verhuven will take place in Giza, Egypt. The arena for the boxing event will be located right next to the famous pyramids, making the event one of the most spectacular in world boxing this year.
The WBC heavyweight belt and The Ring title will be on the line, but Usyk will also defend his WBA and IBF titles, which Verhuven will not be challenging for.
The Dutchman is a long-time Glory champion and one of the world’s most famous kickboxers. However, he has only one boxing match under his belt, which ended in victory.
Usyk enters the fight undefeated in his professional career. The Ukrainian remains the reigning WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion.
