The USYK Foundation organized a trip for 40 Ukrainian soldiers to attend Usyk's fight in Egypt
Forty Ukrainian servicemen were honored guests at one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year—Oleksandr Usyk’s triumphant bout against Dutch boxer Rico Verhoeven in Egypt.
PrivatBank, in collaboration with the USYK Foundation, organized this large-scale trip for our defenders as part of a joint social initiative.
Ukrainian soldiers were able to cheer on their national champion live at the legendary arena, built right next to the ancient pyramids of Giza.
This event allowed the soldiers of combat units to temporarily escape the harsh reality of the front lines and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere filled with vivid emotions and friendly interaction.
In addition to attending the fight itself, a rich cultural program was prepared for the participants.
The soldiers visited the Grand Egyptian Museum, learned about Egypt’s historical heritage, and toured the country’s iconic tourist sites.
The most emotional part of the trip was an exclusive private meeting with Oleksandr Usyk, which took place the day after his hard-fought victory in the ring.
The defenders had a wonderful opportunity to personally congratulate the boxer, ask their questions, take commemorative photos, and receive autographed souvenirs.
The meeting took place in a very warm and sincere atmosphere among like-minded people united by their faith in the future of our country.
The bank’s management emphasized that such events are intended not only to express deep gratitude to our defense leaders but also serve as an effective element of psychological recovery.
Regular moral support for the soldiers helps them navigate the rehabilitation process more easily after returning from the active combat zone. The bank emphasized that it will continue to create similar projects for the Ukrainian military.
“Our soldiers defend the country every day, risking their own lives. Therefore, the opportunity to take a break from the war for at least a few days, experience new emotions, and feel the support of society is extremely important. We are grateful to every defender and will continue to support those who defend Ukraine,” said Dmytro Musienko, a member of the bank’s board.
