The Ukrainian national team defender has extended his contract with the English club
Ukrainian defender Vitaliy Mykolenko has decided on his future in the English Premier League and signed a new contract with Liverpool's Everton. The footballer has extended his contract with the English club, for which he has played since 2022. Thus, the Ukrainian will continue to represent the team in the English Premier League.
The Ukrainian’s new contract with the Toffees runs through the summer of 2029. Mykolenko has been playing for the Merseyside club since January 2022. Everton paid Kyiv’s Dynamo €23.5 million for him.
Mykolenko has played 36 matches in all competitions this season. He has recorded one assist. The defender’s previous contract with the Toffees was set to expire on June 30.
Vitaliy Mykolenko’s reaction to signing the new contract
The Ukrainian said he feels at home in Liverpool. For him, Everton is a real family that overcomes all obstacles together.
“I’m very happy to sign this new contract—I’m extremely excited and proud. It’s been a great journey for me so far, and now I think we’re moving in the right direction to climb as high as possible in the standings. Next season, we want to finish much higher,” Mykolenko said.

In the Premier League, however, Everton finished in 13th place. David Moyes’s squad earned 49 points. The Merseysiders secured 13 wins and drew 10 matches.
