Anthropic unveils Claude Haiku 5.5 priced from $0.10 per million tokens — Channel NewsAsia

In Singapore, Anthropic unveiled Claude Haiku 5.5, the third model in the Claude 5.5 family released over the past month. The launch expands the company’s product lineup ahead of its planned initial public offering, Channel NewsAsia reports, citing Reuters.

Model purpose

Claude Haiku 5.5 is designed for classification, summarization and data extraction. It is also intended to support users in real time, voice agents and assistants integrated into applications.

Anthropic said the new model costs 75% less than the previous Haiku 4.5 version. For requests of up to 100,000 tokens, the price is $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens.

Pricing and cybersecurity

For longer requests, the price rises to $0.50 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens. The company also said Haiku 5.5 became the first Haiku model with built-in safeguards for a narrow range of high-risk cybersecurity requests. According to Anthropic, these restrictions should not affect most everyday tasks.
