The head of Rostelecom accused Apple of taking unfriendly actions

The American company Apple has blocked and removed the Russian messaging app "Max" from the App Store.

The official reasons for this move have not yet been disclosed, but the decision has already sparked a sharp reaction among Russian officials and the leadership of technology companies.

Mikhail Oseevsky, head of Rostelecom, harshly criticized the U.S. company’s actions during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

In his view, blocking the popular service is a calculated move aimed at hindering the development of Russian software. The head of the digital giant is convinced that such incidents have a purely political basis.

“These are enemies,” Oseevsky stated categorically in a comment to the propaganda news agency TASS.

According to him, the removal of the app appears to be a completely unfriendly gesture, especially given its active promotion and growing popularity among users.

Despite the harsh rhetoric, the head of Rostelecom called on the Russian side to refrain from an immediate and tit-for-tat response.

He emphasized that the aggressive steps taken by the American corporation should not automatically become a pretext for similar actions in the opposite direction.

Instead, the top executive expressed hope for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is conducting intelligence operations via Telegram on Russian territory and is already preparing to work with the new Russian messenger Max.
