Foldable iPhone Duo could cost from $2,000 — The Verge
Apple may call its first foldable smartphone the iPhone Duo and set a starting price of $2,000 for the version with 256 GB of storage. The Verge reports, citing Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.
Name, price and colors
According to Gurman, shipments of the device could begin as early as October. The model is reportedly set to be available in two colors: white and dark blue. Previously, the foldable iPhone was mostly referred to in rumors as the iPhone Ultra, but Gurman has now reported the possible name iPhone Duo.
Microsoft previously used the Duo name for the Surface Duo and Surface Duo 2 devices. Google also used Duo for one of its messaging and chat services.

Comparison with competitors
The expected $2,000 base price of the iPhone Duo would be higher than the starting cost of the Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold and the base version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, which start at $1,899. At the same time, it would be lower than the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which is $2,099.99.
According to earlier rumors, the foldable iPhone will be able to run iPhone apps side by side, support iPad-like multitasking, as well as work with the Apple Pencil stylus. Apple had not disclosed official details of the device at the time of publication.
