SpaceX launched 24 Starlink satellites into orbit from California
On August 8, SpaceX launched 24 Starlink internet satellites into low Earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Space Launch Complex 4 East at 12:35 p.m. Eastern Time, or 4:35 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time.
About eight and a half minutes after launch, the rocket’s first stage made a planned landing in the Pacific Ocean on SpaceX’s unmanned platform, “Of Course I Still Love You.” This was the 16th flight for booster B1093.

B1093’s previous launch took place on July 14, when it delivered 27 Starlink satellites into low Earth orbit from Vandenberg. The Falcon 9 upper stage continued its flight during this mission and deployed 24 satellites approximately 61 minutes after launch, according to Space.com.
This launch marked the 92nd Falcon 9 launch in 2026 and the 71st launch of the year to expand the Starlink satellite constellation. According to the publication, the Starlink network comprises more than 10,900 active satellites and is the largest satellite network in orbit.
