The specs of the upcoming Pixel 11a have been revealed
The Google Pixel 11a, which isn't expected to be unveiled until early 2027, has already been almost completely revealed. Its technical specifications have appeared online, indicating several important upgrades—a new processor, a different modem, and a brighter display.
Although the official announcement of the Google Pixel 11a is still to come, a nearly complete list of the new smartphone’s specifications has already been published online. The information was shared by IT Home. If confirmed, the Pixel 11a will feature the Google Tensor G6 processor, which will also be used in the flagship Pixel 11 series. This means that even the most affordable model in the lineup will run on the latest chip, rather than a previous-generation processor, as was the case with the Pixel 10a.
The smartphone will have 8 GB of RAM and a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2424×1080 pixels. The screen will support an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 60 to 120 Hz, and the claimed maximum brightness will reach 3,350 nits. One of the most significant changes could be Google’s decision to stop using Samsung Exynos modems. According to the leak, the Pixel 11a will feature a MediaTek M90 modem.
It was the Exynos modems that were often the source of criticism for previous Pixel smartphones. Users complained about increased power consumption, unstable connectivity, and faster battery drain. The new modem is expected to improve mobile connectivity and positively impact the device’s battery life. Another new feature will be an updated front-facing camera sensor, which should improve the performance of the facial recognition system.
Battery life will be provided by a 4,870 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than in previous models in the series. It’s also reported that the Pixel 11a will be available in four colors:
- black;
- silver;
- green;
- purple.
However, it’s important to note that Google has not yet officially confirmed these specifications. All information is based on a leak, so some of the smartphone’s specifications may still change before the official announcement.
