Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple's CEO
Apple's Board of Directors has unanimously approved a decision to replace the company's CEO. After 15 years in the role, Tim Cook will step down, and John Ternus will take over as the new CEO.
This was reported by NBC News, citing the company’s website.
As noted in the company’s press release, the transition will take place by September. This will mark the end of one of the most successful leadership careers in the modern history of the tech industry.
“It has been an incredible honor in my life to serve as Apple’s CEO and to realize that I was entrusted to lead such an extraordinary company,” Cook said.
He added: “I love Apple with all my heart, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with a team of brilliant, innovative, creative, and deeply caring people who are unwaveringly dedicated to their work and to creating the best products and services in the world.”
John Ternus, who has been with the company for many years, will take the helm at Apple following the official conclusion of Cook’s tenure.
