Xiaomi has raised prices on its popular smartphones

Xiaomi has raised prices on a number of smartphones in the Chinese market. The changes affect models in the Xiaomi 17, Redmi K90, and Redmi Turbo 5 series.

Depending on the model, prices have risen by 300–500 yuan (about $45–75). The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max saw the largest price increase, rising by 500 yuan.

Xiaomi attributed the price increase to a sharp rise in production costs, particularly due to higher prices for memory components. According to Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibin, prices for certain components have increased severalfold in recent years.

It is not yet known whether the price increase will extend to Xiaomi smartphones sold outside of China.
