In five years, billions of people will have personal AI agents — Zuckerberg
Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that within the next five years, billions of people will have their own personal AI-powered agents that will act on their behalf.
According to Zuckerberg, these AI agents will understand users’ goals and be able to assist with various tasks around the clock.
“I think it’s extremely unlikely that, if we look, say, five years ahead, there won’t be billions of people with a personal agent that understands your goals and simply works on your behalf 24/7 to help you achieve your goals in any area that’s important to you,” he said during a quarterly conference call with investors.
The Meta CEO believes that personal AI agents will help people manage their finances, monitor their health, handle household tasks, and maintain personal relationships.
Zuckerberg also noted that as the popularity of such digital assistants grows, messaging platforms—particularly WhatsApp—will play an increasingly important role.
According to him, the personal AI agents being developed by Meta will form the foundation of the company’s next wave of products and become one of its key sources of revenue in the coming years.
