A 106-year-old Ukrainian man has become the oldest person in Ireland
106-year-old Ukrainian Petro Motornyi has become the oldest man in Ireland, where he currently lives with his family.
Petro Motornyi was born on November 5, 1919, in the Cherkasy region and worked for over 50 years at a shipyard in Mykolaiv, rising from welder to shop foreman. In 2024, at the age of 104, the centenarian received his first passport and traveled to Ireland.
Despite his advanced age, he has a sharp memory, remains active, and recites passages from Ivan Kotlyarevsky’s *Eneida* from memory. This year, he will celebrate his 107th birthday.
