The 118th Brigade was inducted into the Ukrainian Book of Records for its defense of Malaya Tokmachka

The 118th Separate Mechanized Brigade has officially been entered into the Ukrainian Book of Records for holding its positions in the Malaya Tokmachka area for more than 1,500 consecutive days.

This was reported by the press service of the 118th Mechanized Brigade.

Oleg Ivanenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Book of Records, presented the brigade command with a special certificate confirming the setting of the national record.

The village of Malaya Tokmachka has been recognized as one of the longest-held positions in the current Russian-Ukrainian war.

The statement notes that Ukrainian defenders have continuously controlled this sector despite constant assaults by Russian troops, artillery shelling, airstrikes, and drone attacks.

“A national record is merely a statement of fact for history. The true reward for our titans is every meter of Ukrainian land preserved,” the brigade emphasized.

The 118th Mechanized Brigade continues to carry out combat missions on one of the hottest sectors of the front, repelling Russian attacks and holding the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

The Russian army lost about 1,020 soldiers over the past day. 

Total combat losses of Russian troops from February 24, 2022, to May 24, 2026, amount to approximately 1,355,920 personnel. Over the past day, 1,110 soldiers were eliminated.

Russian troops continue their attempts to disrupt the logistical support of Ukrainian units in the south. The Southern Defense Forces reported that the enemy is attempting to cut off supply routes toward Zaporizhzhia, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv, but these efforts have been unsuccessful. Ukrainian troops are holding their positions and maintaining control of the situation on this section of the front.
