The 19th Army Corps has a new commander: Valery Skred has taken command
The 19th Army Corps, whose units are defending the Kostiantynivka sector, has a new commander. Valeriy Skred has been appointed commander of the corps. Prior to this, the 19th Army Corps was led by Brigadier General Oleksandr Bakulin.
According to Ukrayinska Pravda, the change in command of the 19th Army Corps took place approximately two weeks ago, and the handover process is currently underway.
In a statement marking the anniversary of the formation of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, Skred was named commander of the 19th Army Corps.
He congratulated the personnel of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade and its commander.
Quoting directly from the corps’ post: “Service members who demonstrated courage, dedication, and high professionalism while carrying out combat missions were honored with departmental awards and decorations.
Those present observed a moment of silence to honor the memory of fallen comrades who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence.
We remember everyone who did not return from battle. Their feat will forever remain a part of Ukraine’s history.”
In addition, on August 24, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promoted Skred to the rank of brigadier general. The decree also named him commander of the 19th Army Corps of the “South” Operational Command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.
