On July 20, two bomb disposal experts from the National Police of Ukraine—39-year-old Police Colonel Maksym Movchan and 41-year-old Police Lieutenant Colonel Anatoliy Radkovsky—were killed while conducting demining operations in the Kharkiv region.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that both law enforcement officers had served for over 20 years in the internal affairs agencies and the National Police. They worked daily to clear Ukrainian territory of explosive ordnance, risking their own lives.
The circumstances of the tragedy have not been specified.
